Save the Grand Canyon

We can save the Grand Canyon and other national treasures from toxic pollution from mining, but we need the Senate to act quickly. Sign the petition below to ask your Senator to pass stronger laws protecting our public lands.

Dear Senator,

There are some places that we should be protecting forever. I believe the Grand Canyon is one of those places. Unfortunately, perfectly legal mining claims endanger the beauty and the health of this area.

I worry that the rising price of gold, increasing demand for uranium, and a race to pollute before the end of the industry-friendly Bush administration all add up to a different Grand Canyon than the one I know.

By passing H.R. 2262, the House took the first step to protect the Grand Canyon and other treasured lands from this trend expanding in the future. It’s time for the Senate to do the same.
